Lord of grassroots gigs, ruling from his throne of minimal melodies while commanding crowds of
underground rockers, is singer-songwriter Tony Flaggs. He has been rocking the New York and
Atlanta local bar scenes for the past 10 years, singing about life, love, and self-realization. Often
compared yet defying definition Tony Flaggs’ music is a fusion of seventies and eighties folk
and alternative indie rock injected with his 21st century style and topped with a dash of soul.
His
music pushes the limits of indie’s symbolic jangly guitars and ranges from whispery love ballads
to thumping techno beats. His lyrical delivery is innocent yet introspective. His lyrical delivery is
haunting at times, yet personal and captivating, drawing both the listener and audience into a
reflection of life and experience.
Tony Flaggs, born in Maryland, comes from a musical family and is a classically trained pianist.
He credits artists like Leonard Cohen, The Pixies, Belle and Sebastian, The Smiths and The
Velvet Underground as musical influences.
Tony is a multi-instrumentalist, drawing upon his
skills with the guitar and keyboards to create his unique blend of texture. As a solo artist he has
completed two albums, The Major Stupids and Cactus Face and has released his first video for the single “Renaissance Man” from his The Major Stupids album. With a third album in the
works he has a knack for songwriting and is nothing short of a musical genius. One man, Tony
Flaggs inspired by ear and skills to develop both harmonious albums something that would
usually take a team of people in years to compose, produce and write.
